Waste Management

Field reports connect identified bins and checkpoints with observations.

Purpose

A reporting workflow for sanitation teams. Inspectors identify a bin or checkpoint, enter an observation and, where supported, attach a photo and phone location for a supervisor’s review.

Predictive AI

Prediction from this application's own analytics

Like every Cloud on Tap application, Waste Management includes AI prediction based on the analytics it holds in the cloud. Those analytics draw on the records submitted through its authorised workflows, under the same role-based access as the rest of the record.

Predictions support people's judgement. They do not replace review, professional advice or the configured workflow.

The problem addressed

Reports from dispersed field teams can be hard to match to a specific bin and compare over time.

Intended audiences

  • Municipalities
  • Sanitation departments
  • Waste-service contractors

Capabilities

  • Identify a bin or checkpoint with a tag
  • Manually record fill level and condition
  • Attach field photographs
  • Review reports and their location on an administrator map where supported
  • Embedded predictive AI based on the analytics of the respective application in the cloud.

Roles

  • Field inspector or sanitation worker
  • Supervisor
  • Administrator

Workflow

  • 01Read the bin or checkpoint tag
  • 02Record the observed condition and optional supporting photo
  • 03A supervisor reviews reports and history

Requirements

  • A COTIC-compatible smartphone or link, a programmed tag, network access, an authorised account, and camera or location permission only for features that use them.

Important limitation

  • The documented workflow depends on human field reports. Automatic fill-level sensors, route optimisation and automated dispatch are not presented as existing capabilities. Historical material refers to an alpha version; current availability is unconfirmed.

In practice · synthetic story

01 · Scenario

An inspector visits a fictional collection point, records that a bin is nearly full and adds a photo. A supervisor later reviews the report with the checkpoint history.

02 · Outcome

The result: a field observation becomes a report that the responsible team can review.

Frequently asked questions

Does the bin measure its own fill level?+

No sensor connection is established. The documented workflow relies on an inspector entering an observation.
