System layers

One tap, through every layer

A conceptual view of the Cloud on Tap product architecture: from the physical object up to analytics and prediction, with role-based access across every layer and a blockchain layer at the foundation.

  1. L1Physical layer

    Objects carrying COTICs

Assets, rooms, vehicles and checkpoints each carry a COTIC with an identifier that points to their record.

  2. L2Access layer

    Phone and browser

A compatible phone reads the COTIC and opens the matching view in the browser.

  3. L3Cloud layer

    Records, workflows and history

Checklists, submissions and history live in the application's cloud workspace.

    Analytics and AI prediction

Each application analyses its own cloud records; its AI prediction is based on those analytics.

Blockchain layer within the architecture

Part of the Cloud on Tap product architecture, working alongside role-based access to support the integrity of work records.

Conceptual diagram of the product architecture. It does not describe this website's own infrastructure.

COTIC (Cloud on Tap Information Carrier).

Four layers make the interaction understandable: a physical object or checkpoint; an COTIC information carrier; a smartphone and browser with the permissions a specific feature needs; and cloud records with authorised workflows.

COTIC access does not measure a bin, transmit continuous location or authenticate identity. A digital record is not automatically a digital twin. A group of tags is not evidence of a decentralised database or blockchain. COTICs means Cloud on Tap Information Carriers in this product family.

Capabilities such as AI or blockchain must be verified separately for a specific application before they are presented as current features.

All applications include predictive AI based on their own cloud analytics. Predictions depend on the available application data and support informed decisions; they are not guarantees or a replacement for professional judgement.
